In 2016, we will be building on our success to solve some of the biggest problems our world faces. Here’s a snapshot of a few of our key initiatives:

Microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Nigeria move money between their organizations by putting cash on a bus. Stellar.org will create a free transfer system for MFIs to connect 10 million people to a free financial network.
A girl with a bank account will stay in school a year longer. Stellar.org plans to launch free mobile savings accounts for girls in South Africa.
Fewer than 1% of contributions to open-source software come from Africa and the Middle East. Stellar.org will train 1,000 developers across Africa in open-source software to build financial services.
